Doing some catching up...this post is regarding the same weekend that we went to NYC to celebrate Paul's 40th birthday...way back in early May.  Lukey had his kindergarten songfest (a little concert where they sang 5-6 songs that they had been practicing diligently for weeks/months) the Friday we flew out to NYC.  I was devastated that I had to miss it.  I felt so bad and I even cried when I realized it was the Friday we were going to NYC.  I was able to go to the school the day before, when they were having their 'dress rehearsal' and watch.  It was SO CUTE.  And then on the day of the Songfest both sets of grandparents were there to support him.  I was so proud of his cute little self.  

Paul turned the big 4-0 on May 9th and I saved and saved my Jake's tip money - ;) - to surprise him with a trip to NYC.  Heather would be moving home at the end of May, so we JUST eeked in a trip before she moved back to Minneapolis (after 16 years in New York).  We had an amazing time seeing the city with Heather and Nate.  The weather was perfect.  Here are a few highlights (in pictures) of our trip:
