Luke stuff

Luke is growing up.  His vocabulary is large.  He loves to have conversations with people.  His little mind is always working.  This morning he came out of his room and said to me " Mom, I just turned my light off.  I turned it on for a little bit, then I just turned it off.  Because it costs money to have the lights on."   My little guy.  Love him for listening and obeying, turning off his light on his own without me having to ask, and making the correlation (or even if he is just repeating what I say) that it costs money to have the lights on. A few days ago we were reading a Busytown book about 'everyone being a worker.'  The book asked " What does your dad do? "  So I asked Luke that question and he said, " I don't know.  Tell me."   Me:   No, you know.  Where does daddy work? Luke:  Rambow! Me:  Yep.  What does he do there? Luke:  I don't know.  Tell me." Me:  He sells clothes.  Now, ( reading the book ) What does you

Uncle Pete and Aunt Eryn get married!

Saturday, July 21st was a very special day for the Hannig family.  Pete married Eryn Hagen...and so I have a new sister!  I'm not sure I could ask for better sisters through marriage.  Heather Hannig, Eryn Hagen Hannig, and Virginia Thayer Hannig.  Such amazing women!  Luke was the ring bearer but didn't want to walk down the aisle when the time came.  His little flower girl was so gorgeous - Emersyn Hagen (Eryn's niece).  She grabbed his hand and they were set to go, but Luke ended up running away, trying to hide behind me, then crawling a little ways down the aisle before I picked him up got him out of the way of the bride and her dad! But don't you worry, Ben went down in Luke's place.  The plan wasn't to have Ben and Jett (the other little guy, Eryn's nephew) walk down the aisle, but Ben determined to barrel down the aisle anyway.  He grabbed his blankie, stuck his two middle fingers in his mouth, and took off down the aisle toward daddy.  It was

A few more words for Ben...and misc stuff

Ben is adding a few words to his vocabulary.  He says "Mow" (rhymes with "How") to communicate "more."  So we often here him yelling "Mow, mow, mow" when he is at the table eating.  He can sort of say "car"...it sounds like "Ka, Ka."  It is interesting to me how quickly he picks up on sounds or actions simply because he has an older brother.  Ben is doing things that Luke took much longer to do, simply b/c he imitates his brother, Luke.  For example, he makes a shooting sound when he is holding anything remotely close to resembling a gun.  He also makes the Vrrrmm sound when driving his little cars around. He continues to be a little snuggle bug and will run up behind me and put his arms around me and his head in my legs for a big hug.  He also will hide behind me and wraps his arms around my leg for safety, like what you would imagine a typical baby doing. Luke continues to beat him and push him around.  Ben is so tough a
