Luke loves his brother, too

A few "posts" ago I talked about Ben's love for his brother Luke.  Well, Luke loves his brother, Ben, equally as much.  Yesterday Luke informed me that Ben had a big booger coming out of his nose.  I said to Luke, somewhat kidding deep down but still in a serious voice, Why don't you go get a Kleenex and wipe his nose for him?  In my head I was thinking, it'll never happen.

Okay, Mom!

And off he runs to get a Kleenex.  He ran back, beckoned for Benny, and gently wiped his nose.

Got it, Mom!

And he brings me the proof.

Benny actually let him wipe his nose.  He stood still and let Luke do it.  Now why doesn't he let me?

Last night Luke headed to the bathroom to go potty one last time before bed.  I was wiping the kitchen counter off and just watched his little 3 1/2 year old body doing his recently potty trained thing.  When he was finished I saw him trying to get some toilet paper off the roll.  He finally got a little piece off the roll.  What is he doing?, I thought.  He bunched the little piece up a bit, bent down, and wiped off the rim of the toilet.  He'd dribbled.  It was so cute and I was really proud of him for doing that!  I praised him and thanked him for helping me out (since I'd be the one cleaning it later).

In just the past two months, I have seen tremendous growth out of Luke.  He is maturing as a little boy - comfortable leaving my side.  It is fun to watch.  He talks and talks and talks to anyone he's with.  He plays well independently and with others.  He is good at sharing.  He says such funny things - way too many things to capture.  What I love now is how he will put one fist on his hip and say, "got it, mom?" when he needs me to listen to him, understand something, or do something.  He is still a little man of a million faces.  There are a few below.  Enjoy.

Here he is doing his "got it, mom?" thing.  his other hand is on the hip.

There it is...the hand.
