A quick morning Meri update
My little girl is 7 weeks old today. She slept from 11:30pm until 8am on Saturday night/Sunday morning! Last night (Monday) she slept from 10:45 until 6am! Then she nursed and went right back to bed and is still sleeping at 9am (which is why I can jump online and give a morning update). What a good little sleeper (like her brother Luke, who is also still sleeping. Benny, on the other hand, is up at 7am regardless of when he goes to bed the night before).
Meri is still a peanut. She probably weighs the same as my boys did at birth (9 lbs? We don't have a working scale to confirm her weight). She started to give us some sweet smiles in the past week or so and is clearly following us with her eyes. She stops fussing instantly if I sing to her. She will stop sucking her pacifier and it will fall half-way out, just hanging on her bottom lip, as she gazes up at me to hear her lullaby with her big, wide eyes.
Some other Meri facts: She snorts when she is really hungry and ready to eat. Its so cute. She takes a bottle like a champ and I've already had a night or two out, no problem! She loves a nuk/pacifier, which is different than my boys and quite a nice thing for us all. Her hair is auburn/chestnut and its possible I could have a brown haired Luke, a blond haired Benny, and a red haired Meri. The boys adore her and give her tons of kisses. They only sometimes get frustrated that I'm holding and nursing her a lot and I might here "No hold baby mama!" from Ben or "Stop feeding Meredith. Get out of your bedroom!" from Luke. There have been multiple occasions where I'm walking around nursing Meri, holding her in one arm, and holding a sad, almost 40lb Ben in the other. It's quite a sight. Overall, 7 weeks is bliss in comparison to the fatigue and hormones and adjustment of weeks 1-4. Life is getting back to normal. Below is a picture of sweet Meredith Nicole at 6 weeks. And then a picture of big brother Batmen, Luke and Benny. I love my precious family, and although I thought I would have all boys, I see that this is just how God designed it for us. It's so awesome!
Love,
Paul, Nikki, Luke, Ben, and Meredith
