Just found these notes on baby Mer

I was going through old emails, deleting what I could.  I found these notes that I sent to Grandma Marcy when Meredith was just about 6 months old.  We went with Pete and Eryn to Arizona for a long weekend.  Thought I would capture a little bit of Meredith at 6 months old...because I've certainly forgotten what she was like and what she was doing at that age (as she approaches 3 years old!).  I love how I noted "Don't waste any breast milk."  That definitely was always a concern of mine! Sleeps on tummy at night if she can't fall asleep on back. Wear long sleeve onsie and socks under Jammie. Try snowsuit if she seems cold. Don't waste any breast milk. Likes puffs. Need to feed them to her.  She can't pick them up and get in mouth quite yet. Eats baby food one to two times a day. She will let you know when she's done bc she will not be interested anymore. Baby food should be room temp. Bottle should be room temp or a little warm. Bottle nipples - #1

Update on Luke and school

At the beginning of the year I wrote a post about Luke and mom both struggling with his transition to first grade.  Since that time, Luke has been thriving at school.  We just had his 2nd trimester conference and we could not be more proud of him!  He is doing excellent across the board - reading, writing, math, specials, behavior.  Miss Quade commented "Luke always does the right thing."  It's true.  I have had the pleasure of volunteering in his classroom this year (as well as last year) and I am so proud of how kind Luke is to others, how well behaved and focused he is, and how he is a 'silent' leader among his peers.  He seems to be gaining confidence in meeting new people and being in new situations.  He never fights having to go to school and goes with a smile on his face every day.  What a difference from the first month or two of the school year.  Hopefully each new school year won't take as long to transition to new teachers and classmates.  ;)  The

Luke's Heart

Luke is very sentimental. He was devastated a few weeks ago for the Carolina Panthers losing the Super Bowl...Just devastated for Cam Newton. The Broncos had won many Super Bowls. Carolina hadn't. Payton Manning had won a superbowl.  Cam Newton hadn't.  He was close to tears.  He gets attached to things easily and hurts deeply for people. (Like his momma).  Me: Luke, you know what one of the many things I love about you is?  You are sentimental and compassionate.   I went on to explain what those words meant. I explained that he cares deeply about things and people, and so when people are happy, he is happy, but when people are sad, he is sad. We talked about what it means to be sentimental.  Luke won't throw anything away. Everything has an emotional and special story attached to it.  Luke: Kind of like how I am with Eddy ? Eddy his Luke's betta fish (well it is actually Meredith's, but Luke has become sentimentally attached to Eddy and so it has become his
