In the mood for Meredith

Image
This girl is pushing 2 years old.  She is something else.  Meredith is full of spunk, with lots of facial expressions and funny sayings.  She strings 2 words together easily, such as "Daddy's home" or "Lukey, DOP!" (Dop = Stop), or "Mommy guck!" (Guck = stuck).  Here are a few of her many faces and styles. She truly completes our family!

Ground Hogs

Ben said to me the other day, "Mom, aren't we going to do those ground hogs?"   My response:  What? Benny:   I'm ready to do some ground hogs."   I thought for a moment, then realized he meant ground balls .  We had talked about taking some grounders.  :)

Spring Break Adventures

This week is Spring Break for our school district.  I never had a spring break week at Rocori growing up, so this is a bit new to me.  The good news - I get to have Lukey home with me this week.  All 3 kids together for a week!  Monday morning was full of activity:  we built Legos, played basketball, assembled some wooden airplanes from Grandma Annie, painted the wooden airplanes, went on a golf cart ride, threw rocks and explored down by the public access on Green Lake.  Whew, it should be time for bed after all that, right?  Nope, it was only 11:45am!  It wasn't long after that when I started hearing "There's nothing to do" and "I'm bored" and "Can I just watch a show?"  Well, somehow we have made it to Thursday night and the week has gone surprisingly well.  Here are some highlights: 1. Ben smoked Meredith with a rock in the head when we were throwing rocks at Green Lake.  Mer and I were sitting down by the lake and Ben was 20 ...

Lukey turns 6

Yesterday my first born turned 6.  We moved to Spicer when Luke was just 2, which seems like yesterday.  He has grown into such a confident, kind young boy.  We are immensely proud of him.  He has adjusted to Kindergarten better than I could have ever dreamed of, he has made solid friendships, showed kindness to some kids in his class with special needs, tackled swimming lessons this Spring with confidence, become best friends with his sister, Meredith, taken huge strides in sharing and playing with Ben....I could go on.  My love for him is indescribable. We had a party the day before his birthday with 6 of his friends and Paul put together a treasure hunt through our woods.  We gave the boys their own compass and a 'treasure bag' for all the treasures they would collect along the way.  They each had an alias for the day, which was tied to one of the treasures they would find along with the 2nd clue.  Luke was "Orange Snake" and Ben was "Blue Sa...
