Pictures from Luke's first day of Kindergarten

This first picture doesn't capture the excitement Luke was feeling, and in fact makes it look like he's really dreading kindergarten, but he was truly excited!  He was all set with his favorite shirt from Aunt Heather and his name tag from his teacher.  The second picture is much better.  Waffles and Ben's smile - what better way to kick off the first day of Kindergarten.

The entire family drove Luke to school.  School starts at 8:15, but from 8-8:15am there is recess on the playground.  Before we headed to recess, we brought Luke inside to his locker to put his bag away.  His teacher, Mrs. Grabow, was there to greet us.  Luke was excited about his locker.

After getting everything set in the locker, we headed out to recess. Thankfully we found Luke's very best friend, Liam, right when we arrived.  Liam is also in Luke's classroom with Mrs. Grabow.

Another buddy from preschool at Praise and Play, Oden, hopped in for a photo opp

And here is Luke with the Praise and Play preschool crew, including Coleman this time.

A proud mom...not sad yet.  That comes in the next few days.

The bell rings and off Luke runs, with Liam and other friends, not at all scared or shy on his first day of kindergarten.  I'm happy and scared and proud and a million other things.  Most of all I want to wrap him in my arms and tell him I love him, I'm proud of him for being so brave, and I really want to take him home with me...even though I know that isn't what he wants (or needs for that matter)!
