My football player and pumpkin

Here are my little ones dressed up for Halloween (Ben's first Halloween):
Last year Luke was too young to understand Halloween and this year when I tried to prep him for the big day he seemed understandably confused.  He just kept repeating "candy" although that was only one of the many words I used to describe the event of trick or treating.  We headed out early.  He looked so confused when we got to each door and people gave him candy.  He didn't once say "trick or treat" and instead of letting people put candy in his plastic pumpkin he would often grab it right out of their hands.  It was really cute.  We went to our pastor's house and Pastor Steve said, "He probably thinks this is pretty cool.  Just put on a costume and people give you candy."  The problem could be that he wears his football "costume" every day - literally - including the shoulder pads, helmet, and spikes.  I'm hoping he won't ask to go out knocking on people's doors for candy everyday now.

Anyway, with a belly full of candy and no supper, he fell asleep in the car after the last house (by 7pm) and snored the entire way home.
