The Unofficial Start to Summer - Memorial Day Weekend 2014

Lots and lots of beautiful weather this weekend makes for lots and lots of FUN!  Planting and projects and biking and bonfires.  Here are a few pictures of the fun:

Swing-set fun!

 Pizza for breakfast!

Golf cart ride to see the little horsie down the road.  Benny -I mean Superman - loved it!

Somebody loves spaghetti.  All the way up to the armpit.  Yowsers.

Removing ugly old rock landscaping, planting more veggies.  Kids getting rides in the wheelbarrow in between hauling rock.

A bike ride to the grocery store to buy hot dogs for the BBQ at the Bell's.  Meredith's first time in the bike trailer.  She SQUEALED with delight the entire ride!  Lukey had his arm around her shoulder most of the ride.  It was so sweet.  Paul pulled these two monkey's.  Mom pulled Ben in our other bike trailer.  On the way back home, we stopped at auntie Eryn's store and were randomly surprised to see Dave and Ann drive up, too.  Fun!

Bonfire and BBQ at the Bell's.  Fun fun fun!

The best home improvement to date, perhaps!  Removing part of the wall in the garage to make room and easy access for our bikes and big wheels and strollers and toys.  A quick and satisfying project with instant results!  Finally, we can actually park our cars in the garage!  We now have easy access to the toys/strollers/bikes, so they won't be left in the middle of the garage.  It will actually be easy to put them away and get them back out!.  De-cluttering makes me so happy.

In addition to these fun activities, me and the kids went for a run to the nursery to buy potatoes (and we ended up buying pumpkins and spinach, too) and rollerbladed home to plant them in the garden.  We also transplanted some of the many irises along the pool fence to the side of Joe's house...adding mulch and a rock border.  What an improvement.  Why didn't I do that right away when we moved in a few years ago?  We went to our friends' Matt and Heidi Goran's house for a Sunday BBQ and party.  We worshiped our Creator at Sunday school and church.  :)  What a wonderful weekend!  And we still have Memorial Day tomorrow!
