Backtracking to the start of school
Meredith started preschool and was my first child ever to not cry or have separation issues. It was mind-blowing to see her excitedly walk away from us without a look back. She is a brave little thing. She is just going 2 mornings, and although she will be 5 next July and could go to Kindergarten, our current plan is to wait one more year to send her.
Luke is enjoying third grade and has some really close buddies in his class. He is flourishing with regard to coming out of his shell a bit. He is maturing and growing up. He loves school and never complains about any part of it.
For the first time in 8 years I have had 2 mornings to myself without a child at home. I thought I would be a mess...crying and lonesome, but I have actually adjusted easily. My two mornings with Meredith at school go so fast...and now those mornings are going to be filled up with volunteering in Luke and Ben's classes. So my time *away* from my kids has become time *with* my kids in their classrooms. I am thankful for that time because I do miss them when they are at school day after day.
