My "Stars of the Week"
Ben was the Star of the Week last week in his classroom. Luke is the Star of the Week this week. This involves a few special activities such as being the line leader, bringing in and sharing some of their favorite things, telling some special facts about themselves, and in Luke's case, reading the class book to the class. For Luke, his mom and dad also had to write a letter to the class that his teacher would read out loud. Below is the letter that Luke and I composed and agreed on. At the last minute, Luke decided he didn't want the picture included so we reprinted the letter sans picture. Bummer. He was so cute!
Dear
Luke,
We
want to tell your class a little bit about you:
Luke
was born in one of the biggest hospitals in Minneapolis, and lived in the Twin
Cities for the first 2 years of his life.
From the time he was 1 ½ years old until he was close to 3 years old, he
wore a baseball helmet all the time, even when he slept in his crib or when it
was 90 degrees out. His poor little head
was hot and sweaty but he wouldn’t take it off.
He loved baseball and he loved that helmet.
All
of these years later, he still loves baseball.
He loves everything baseball and football related and has an uncanny
ability to recall stats and names and numbers. He is very competitive &
comes home daily telling of epic kickball
battles
at recess.
Luke
is very inquisitive and curious, asking endless questions and always wanting to
learn. He prefers one-on-one time and small groups. His strong will is
balanced with a sweet, caring, and sentimental side. You often find him
reading, solving his Rubik's cube, playing catch with a football, shooting
hoops, or checking ESPN.com. He is a
very good big brother to his little sister, Meredith, who is 4 years old. She adores him and he takes good care of her.
He has the mind of an engineer and is able to build things and fix things that
even his mom and dad can’t figure out.
He
is our first-born child and he made us parents.
There is no better job than being Luke’s mom and dad!
Love,
