Big Brothers

Luke and Ben,
You will both be big brothers (Luke, again for you) in July.  Your little sibling is due on July 9th, 2013.  I am almost 14 weeks pregnant.  You have both kept me running through the fatigue and nauseousness of my first trimester.  :)

Luke, you seem to understand we're having another baby, although I still think you'd be shocked if we brought home a baby today.  Maybe once my belly gets bigger it will seem more real.  You say you want a boy, not a girl.  You want to name him Matthew and call him "Matty."  We like that name, too.

Benny,
You have no idea we are having another baby.  And I think you are just going to be mad.  It's going to shake your little world.  But maybe I am wrong.  You are used to having a sibling around 24-7 with Luke, so perhaps another little body won't phase you.  The time and attention I give the new little one might be the hardest for you.  Tonight in the bathtub I mentioned that Mama is having a baby and you just repeated "baby?  baby?" a few times.  You are so sweet and cute.

Your dad and I know that you will both love having another sibling in your life, especially as you grow older.  Siblings and family are amazing blessings.  As your grandpa Dave always says, "One of God's greatest ideas was when he created Family."

Girls names:  Sarah, Meredith (maybe call her Meri, like Grandma Mary Dold), Elin
Boys names:  Matthew....and that's all we've got for now!

Heartbeat at 13 weeks was 150 beats per minute.  At 12 weeks Ben's was 154 and Luke's was about 132 if I recall.

We are simply praying for a healthy baby and trust that God is in complete control.

One thing is certain, we will love you and Benny as much as always when this new baby comes.  We hope you feel that love every day, even if our time or attention is spread out between three of you.  THREE, we hear adding a third is HARD (maybe because we will have a 4 year old Luke and a 2 year old Benny who are crazy, wild, rambunctious boys).  We are up for the challenge.

Love you,
Mom (and Dad)
