Sledding, Donuts, Big Fires and more
I looked through some pictures from the past month and a half and realized I've missed blogging about a lot of fun moments. I will share the pictures and fill in the text as I go.
First: SNOW! This year has been an absolute blast because of this snow. And unlike last year, both Luke and Ben enjoy the snow. We have had SO much fun sledding. We blazed a few AWESOME trails back in the woods and had so much fun zipping down the hills. I will start Luke taking a wiz in the woods. How nice it must be to be a boy.
We also continue our Saturday morning tradition of getting donuts and coffee, then often taking a ride around Green Lake. These are some of my favorite pictures!
We have a burning pit at our place and uncle Joe helps us burn most of the time. In early December we had a smoldering fire going for a few days, and finally the smoky smoldering smell was getting to us all. Joe took the hose and hosed down the smoldering ashes, just to be sure it was out. Later that night, I was sitting right here at the computer and saw a big bright light out of the corner of my eye. I looked out the window and saw a HUGE fire in our burning pit. The flame was close to 15 feet high. At first I assumed Joe had gone back out to burn and had gotten it going again. I mentioned it to Paul and he took a look. He decided to go chat with Joe. Joe had no idea there was a fire and definitely had not started it himself. Somehow, even after hosing it down with water, the wind must have blown it back to starting and we had a humongous fire without even trying. We had fun getting on our boots to go tend to the fire and make sure it didn't take over the entire property.
And lastly, just a favorite picture of Luke helping decorate Pete and Eryn's Christmas tree (from Instagram), Benny snuggling at Grandma and Grandpa Hannig's house and me snuggling Luke at our house. Good night all!

Benny, just being cute. |
This is how Benny rides the sled. |
Even grandpa and grandma Hannig were having a blast one day. How great is this picture?! |
Luke not afraid to put on the face mask. |
This was the huge snowstorm we got. Almost impossible to pull sleds through this deep snow. |
Paul rigged up this double sled action. It works pretty slick! |
