Today's update
Boys,
Your dad is in Las Vegas this week for work. He just left today. That leaves me to fend for myself. :) You are both in bed already (8pm) and the house is quiet - so quiet. It is peaceful and I am thoroughly enjoying this time to sit down and capture some thoughts.
Ben, you started to put together two word sentences. You constantly say, "Are you?" You mean to say "Where are you?" but the 'where' gets left off. I hear your little voice saying it often if I am out of your sight. "Mom! Are you?!" You also just started saying "Mom, WATCH!" when you want me to watch you do something. You started saying it last night in the tub and now you continue to say it all the time. Often you will make something goofy up to do (like put your hands to your mouth and blow on them..?) just so you can say "MOM, WATCH!" You continue to be sweet (and you are less crabby than you have been the past 2 weeks. I think those 2 bottom teeth were the problem and now they are through) and when Luke asks me where his milk is, you will run to wherever you know he left it and get it and bring it back for him. You'll say, "Here go, Uke." Luke was sad earlier today and you ran to get his blanket for him again. It amazes me how thoughtful you are at just over 18 months. It makes me proud of your sweet little personality.
Luke, You have known how to spell your name for ages (maybe before you were 3) and you are able to recognize letters and string letters together for names - like Joe. You are good at writing your name, although you don't like "K's" and today you were very frustrated and started to say "I hate Ks. I hate them." We kept working on them and soon enough you were doing them just right. We talk about you going to preschool and you say you don't want to. Today you said, "But I will be lonely there" and "But when I go to school I will be hungry." It breaks my heart to think of you being away from me even for a few hours a couple times a week. I know it has to happen though. You told me you want me to be your teacher. Believe me, I have thought about homeschooling. I have more anxiety about you going to school than anything else. I just know I will miss you like crazy. And right now you are such a mama's boy that I do think it will be a little bit of a tough transition for you, too. I will keep praying that we all do okay when the time comes.
